Jaime Clemmer has worked and volunteered throughout her life in agencies whose primary focus addresses domestic and sexual violence issues. In late 2016, her healthy ten year old son Sawyer, died unexpectedly from a ruptured AVM on his brain. Sawyer was fearless in life and generous in death as an organ donor of 7 gifts, helping seven other children live. Jaime is a strong advocate for organ donation. After Sawyer's death, frustrated with the cultural narratives surrounding grief, she started writing about her experiences to further the conversation about grief, especially in faith based cultures, and honor the resilience of grievers everywhere.
Jaime graduated from BYU with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies. She and her husband, Jack, have four children, three of whom are living.
Jaime and her family enjoy one upping each other on game nights, eating delicious meals, and sharing their Virginia home, “Eunice,” with anyone who will come visit. Yes, their house is named “Eunice.” That is another story.
