I was born in 1952 the sixth of seven children. I was raised in the Southern United States. My dad was an illiterate laborer, struggling to keep us all in food, clothing, and shelter. My mother stayed at home taking care of my special needs brother.

I am particularly un-athletic and had few friends outside of family. I amused myself by reading borrowed comic books, school library books, and playing space, in the same way children might play cowboys and Indians.

I loved the science fiction books of Lester Dent, H. G. Wells, Jules Verne, Robert Heinlein, Edgar Rice Burroughs, C. S. Lewis and others. Being who I am, I wanted to write some stories of my own. It only took me sixty-five years to decide that there was no short-cut way to do it. I knuckled down, and started, then discovered that I love it.

So, here is my story, I hope you like it as well.
