Geoff Hale

Geoff Hale lives on the Bristol Channel coast of North Somerset. He is a retired Film Editor who worked for BBC TV News for 35 years, starting his career at Alexandra Palace in North London and later moving to the BBC Television Centre in White City.

‘It’s Alright Leaving Me…’ describes the author’s BBC career as a travelling editor, caught up in many of the important news stories during the later years of the 20th century. On a lighter side, the book also features covering a fair number of foreign royal tours by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, the Duke and Duchess of York and the Queen Mother, to Canada, Japan, Germany, Sweden, France, Belize, the Caribbean, Zimbabwe, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

'A Rebellious Recruit' is a fictional story of life as a compulsorily enlisted National Service recruit in the British Army in the 1950s. It mirrors the author’s own experiences during that period but is, nevertheless, a work of fiction.
