Vanessa Thomas is a writer who loves astronomy. She fell in love with the stars on camping trips with her family while growing up. She studied astronomy and science writing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
During her career, Vanessa has worked as a science writer for the Hubble Space Telescope and has written articles for science websites and magazines, including Astronomy and Sky & Telescope.
Today she is the public information officer for the National Science Foundation's NOIRLab, where she writes about the astronomical discoveries made with large telescopes in Arizona, Hawaii, and Chile.
Vanessa is also an amateur astronomer, visiting dark sites to explore the sky with her telescopes and binoculars. She enjoys sharing views through her telescope with others and loves traveling the world to witness total solar eclipses.
