Doris Townsend Gaines

Doris Townsend Gaines is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and has spent her entire life working and raising her family in the community in which she now lives. The salutatorian of the L. J. Rowan High School Class of 1968, she attended Dillard University, is a graduate of William Carey University, and studied further at the University of Southern Mississippi and St. Leo University. She worked for ATT for nearly forty years and ended her career there as a logistics manager responsible for Mississippi and West Tennessee. Now retired, Doris works tirelessly in her church and community and has been married to her high school sweetheart, Grady Gaines, for fifty-one years. They are the parents of three daughters and have two grandchildren.
