Janne stumbled upon the fierceness of her poetry in “This is for the women who don’t give a fuck,” written in 2015. The poem grew teeth and ran through the world—capturing the eyes and hearts of millions of women thirsty for their power. She later went on to create and self-direct films of her poems, This is for the women who don’t give a fuck, I will never be a well-behaved woman, and I am a woman of distinction, all garnering critical acclaim.

She released her first book and collection of poetry, This is for the Women who Don’t Give A Fuck in 2017 while simultaneously building “This is for the women” a media and apparel brand that empowers women to walk tall like an old cypress tree. In every media Robinson has explored, she has given voice and a strength to dream to both women and men no longer willing to live by the constraints of established norms.

She has become a herald for whom the phrases “walk tall” and “take up space” are multi-dimensional breakthroughs, at a time when women are owning their voices and challenging ideals set by society. Her words blend aspects of Allen Ginsberg, Mary Oliver, and Anaïs Nin, combining social commentary with natural images and matter-of-fact sexuality. Her words pointedly express disdain for conformity and champion a commitment to expansive self-discovery.
