Born and raised in Chicago, Jason became interested in becoming an author after studying sociology and graduating from Chicago State University. Having a history in poetry and rap, Jason always had a way with words. Based off his observation of multiple low-income communities impacted by the same social issues such as food insecurity, lack of healthy food access, and high unemployment rates, Jason decided to find ways to combat these social problems. After working with his professor at a localized food garden, Jones seen the type of positive impact a community garden could have on a neighborhood. Jason has always had a love for the people and deeply cared about the city's youth. He continues to work to uplift communities by providing knowledge and education to young people about ways to become more self-sufficient through sustainable development. Through social progress, economic stability, and environmental awareness, Jason believes the world will be a better place for all life.
