Anna Locke

Anna Locke is a gardener and community gardener, permaculture designer, facilitator and small farmer, living in Hastings. She loves growing and preserving food.

She fell in love with plants whilst on a herbal medicine degree, then trained in gardening a couple of years later (2000). Since then she has been on an exciting journey weaving permaculture and gardening throughout her life.

She has developed all kinds of gardens, but ‘A Forager's Garden’ is her 'go-to' garden of choice in her own home, community projects and when she designs edible gardens. Longer term perennials being much easier to look after, which - when you are busy - is simply a relief. With an ever increasing harvest - even despite neglect, at times - the hedges still drip with berries, the trees are laden with fruit and we can be chasing our tails to get all the preserving done.
