It was inevitable that I would love horses - my mother was still riding when she was eight months pregnant and I was born early. However my childhood was no so straightforward and it was the redemptive nature of horses that got me through it. All along I knew I was looking for a different way of communicating and connecting with horses and eventually those techniques found me when I needed them the most. From being a full-time lawyer who owned horses, I went to being a horse trainer, helping people to overcome some of the most deep-rooted and often quirky problems they were having; showing them a different way of understanding and reassuring their horse so that they became part of the solution.

By now living in the New Forest, I became immersed in the rural, commoning way of life and watched my own ponies thrive in their natural environment. Eventually I began to write about this life and what it mean to me - the highs and the lows. I chose to self-publish so that I could steer my books in the direction that I wanted, just as I had steered my own life to suit me.

My three books - From Sober Dress to Sturdy Boots, The Horses are Alright, and The Balloon Collector - are written from the heart, heart-warming, and in places heart-rending - there are no secrets left. I come to them with my defences down. My books are my bio - full of horses, the Forest, camels and excursions to the Isle of Wight, London, Milton Keynes, Mallorca, Kenya and Tanzania - and insights into my struggles with relationships, misophonia, depression and social anxiety.

No Fear, No Force is an instructional book - A Guide to Handling and Training the Semi-feral Foal - and has been sold all over the world and to the owners of all kinds of horses and ponies (cows and camels). Many people say it has been the bible for their training of young or traumatised horses and it is recommended by organisations such as The Moorland Mousie Trust and The Dartmoor Hill Pony Facebook group.
