SHARMIN PRINCE, M.S. CPC, M.S.

I am Sharmin Prince, a proud Afro Guyanese woman, who is on a journey to find my power. My motto is, I can’t lead where I have not walked.” So, I am on a mission to use the tools I innately acquired and later found it belong to a psychological perspective. I thought doing things, academia, and a job/career were my tickets to paradise. However, between 2017 and 2019, I experienced dramatic changes professionally, that impacted me personally and shook me to my core. After becoming a minister at work, my life was never the same. The sad thing is that I didn’t escape that storm until 2021, I was in a daze, a fog, a cloud for two years.

I am the sum of my life experiences and what I choose to do with them. I am on a mission to heal myself and be able to perform miracles, signs, and wonders. ;I embrace and accept the difference that I’ve been running from. I am multi-skilled, and unconsciously embrace a life of servanthood. To many; it is too much, but I have sides with needs that have to be met. At this age and stage of life, the opinions of others should not be in my conversation. I need the freedom to be creative, innovative and imaginative, to maintain my authenticity. If this space is not available, then I have to create it myself.

My first lesson to the trinity or three individual corresponding factors, was in the Brownies, where I recited this “I promise that I will do my best:

To be true to myself and develop my beliefs,” at age seven. As I reflect on my life, I lived up to that promise in whatsoever environment I am in.

I am the founder of Eagles Empowered to Soar(501c3, USA; NGO, Guyana), a non-profit whose mission is to empower people disabled by poverty and exclusion by providing a diverse range of programs through our pillars of service; community development, and social change. We support victims and survivors of gender-based violence with opportunities to tackle inequality and discrimination.

Our sub-pillar Orange 3-6-5, is the avenue to support victims and survivors of gender based violence. We started “A Man’s Perspective,”, a place for men to join in the gender - based violence discussion to raise awareness. We began quarterly virtual meetings in January, and our May session will be led by Men-on-Fire Coach, Travis Belanger.
