Born in 1967 and raised on one of the first organic farms in Switzerland, Daniel Bärtschi has dealt with questions relating to agriculture, nutrition and sustainability since childhood. His heart beats for nature and a better world.
He completed an apprenticeship as a farmer and studied at the Swiss University of Agriculture. He then worked as an agricultural consultant in Switzerland and Romania, Russia and North Korea. He later completed a master's degree in organizational leadership at Eastern University (USA). After further professional positions as programs director in international development cooperation, managing director of Bio Suisse and director of a nature museum, he now has a wealth of experience in the sustainable production of food.
He is a pioneer and trailblazer of the regenerative agriculture and food industry movement in Switzerland and worldwide, and advises companies, farms and organizations on how they can work in harmony with nature.
His vision is a world in which people value and promote nature, regenerative agriculture produces healthy food, and thanks to the combination of traditional knowledge with modern technology, nature can flourish again.
In 2019 he founded the association Agricultura Regeneratio, which promotes the regenerative agriculture and food industry and wants to help society, businesses and politics to attract more attention and appreciation. The association is independent and non-profit and unites actors from the entire food value chain.
He lives with his family in Basel, Switzerland.
