Matthew Soules

Matthew Soules is an associate professor of architecture at the University of British Columbia and the founding director of Matthew Soules Architecture. Soules has been a visiting associate professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, visiting faculty at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and a guest critic at institutions throughout Canada and the United States.

Soules’ most recent book, Icebergs, Zombies, and the Ultra Thin: Architecture and Capitalism in the Twenty-First Century (Princeton Architectural Press, 2021), examines the rise of finance capitalism and its effect on architecture. He is also the author of Binning House (ORO, 2017) and has contributed chapters to books such as Industries of Architecture (Routledge, 2015) and Post-War Middle-Class Housing (Peter Lang, 2015).
