Mario Longobardi, a 23-year-old failed restaurateur, wrote the first draft of his debut novel, Scarlett (the Starlet), in the midst of a personal crisis. Only a week after closing his restaurant, his father was hospitalized in need of critical heart surgery. Though being no stranger to dire situations, with his mother also having battled cancer twice, the tremendous stress of both these events sent him in desperate pursuit of a release valve. He found such in his writing, finally realizing a lifelong creative vision and passion for all avenues of storytelling. After a year of continual rewrites and edits to that consequential first book, Mario is now publishing his works in hopes of providing someone with the same level of comfort his own writing has afforded him.
