Clara Gonzalez is a food writer, culinary photographer, cookbook author, & founder of Tia Clara® & Tia Clara’s Dominican Cooking, where she’s shared her love for food for over 20 years.
Cooking enthusiast, Dominican food lover, and full-time Internet junkie, Clara is Dominican, born and bred. Clara learned how to cook at the side of a long line of Dominican home cooks from which she learned to appreciate the richness of the Dominican cuisine.
Throughout her life she has lived in several regions of the Dominican Republic and is currently based in Punta Cana, D.R. She frequently travels around the country, researching, documenting, writing about, and tasting what the Dominican cuisine has to offer. Clara is also a wife and mom.
Clara is a co-author of the books Yo Cocino Latino (Grijalbo, 2021), Traditional Dominican Cookery, and Aunt Clara's Dominican Recipes.
