Chaitali Sengupta

Chaitali Sengupta is an award-winning author, translator, Dutch language educator, and journalist. Her writing has been widely published in various journals and anthologies, garnering critical acclaim for its depth and insight. Her most recent work, The Crossings—a poignant collection of poems exploring themes of war, migration, and survival—was met with rave reviews and was named Runner-Up at the London Book Festival 2024.

A skilled and experienced translator, Chaitali brings the voices of both Dutch and Indian languages into English with exceptional sensitivity. Her translation work, Timeless Tales in Translation, earned the prestigious Suprova & Santiranjan Sengupta Award 2024 (category: Translation) under the Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library (IPPL), showcasing her remarkable talent in bridging linguistic and cultural divides.

Her debut collection, Cross Stitched Words, a series of prose poems, won an Honorable Mention at the New England Book Festival in 2021, marking the beginning of a promising literary journey.

She has co-authored numerous anthologies, the most recent one being the prestigious international anthology The Kali Project: Invoking the Goddess within, (Indie Blu(e) Publishing, USA, and Earth, Fire, Water & Wind anthology (Authorspress, New Delhi.)
