John Farquhar

John’s career began at the RAND Corporation, heading a staff researching technology and public policy issues. He later joined Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) as a partner, eventually moving to the Computer Sciences Corporation. For both firms he helped a range of clients develop business strategies and explore new directions in information technology.

Fed up with middle management and middle airplane seats, he fled to North Carolina in 2006 to read and write. He built a consultancy in “persuasive writing”—crafting annual reports and executive summaries—until focusing almost exclusively on fiction. His novels reflect his deep curiosity about World War II’s Eastern Front, as well as broader issues of war and redemption. He shares an Asheville bungalow with wife Lou and Lexie, their rowdy Tennessee porch dog.
