I am writing this bio for Chuck, author of this book, I am the compiler. I was his wife for 30 years until his death March 1, 2020. Chuck was a United Methodist Minister for 50 years and a recovering alcoholic 30 of those years. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1942, graduated from Mississippi Southern and Emory University Candler School of Theology. The first 13 years of his ministry was devoted to choral conducting and singing with the Robert Shaw Chorale. He felt it was time to enter the pulpit and preached the remainder of his career. He was a member of Alcoholic’s Anonymous, entering that fellowship in 1990 and from the time he entered was a faithful friend of Bill W. Studying, journaling and preaching was his passion, traveling his joy. Being a published author was his dream and that dream is now reality. That he could combine ministry and recovery made conversation with him quite interesting and “Relevant Ramble” is a continuation of those conversations.
