John C Cranham Dds

Dr. John Cranham splits his time between Chesapeake and Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. He shares his life with Kim of thirty years, and their three adult children, Cornell, Kaitlyn and Kristen. As a biracial family, and one that raised a child with special needs, they have faced many challenges that have bound them together. They believe the obstacles they have faced, have been their greatest blessings, and give them a unique view of the world.

John is an internationally respected dentist with expertise in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, occlusal reconstruction, and TMJ/facial pain. Splitting his time between practice and teaching, he has become one of the most sought-after educators in dentistry; to date, he has presented over 1,500 full days of education all over the world.

While this is his first foray into publishing outside of his chosen profession, he has told Cornell’s story from the podium hundreds of times. He often finishes his programs with a brief synopsis of what his family refers to as “the Cornell Effect.” John feels strongly that of all the things he teaches, this has the greatest impact. He hopes it has a similar effect on those who read it.
