On a winter Saturday in 2016, a group of five storytellers met in Póvoa de Lanhoso. Its elements were determined to meet each other in person and talk about the love that united them: writing.

During a good-natured lunch, someone threw a challenge "in the air": "What if we wrote a book, the five of us?" If they thought it right, they did it better and six months later (no, it wasn't nine), "Before Quebrar Que Torcer" was born: almost 250 pages of interpretations of the theme The French Invasions in the North of Portugal, in 1809.

Two and a half years have passed since that initial release and there is already a new work on the newsstands: "Além", a vague word open to the most diverse interpretations, which gave free rein to our authors, during 265 pages.

After the work was done and a feeling of belonging to this increasingly cohesive group, we couldn't help thinking that it was imperative to create a symbol, an emblem, that represented us.

After analyzing various formats and images, the choice fell on this one shown here.

Anyone who thinks that this is a separate image, without any meaning, is wrong. The font chosen is similar to the typewriter type, to remember other times, more manual and less digital.

Pentaauthors, because there are five of us, just like the fingers of the hand: all different, but with a common interest.

With an open hand, he offers a pen, because it is with a pen that stories are written.

As Virginia Wolf once said: "Writing is the real pleasure; being read is a superficial pleasure."
