Phylo grew up amid the trees and lakes of Northern Michigan. It was an ideal place for a youngster to be wild and free. Rules were simple, schools were adequate and there weren't a lot of people around to spoil the fun most of the year.
This led to a deep appreciation for the northern forests and a deep curiosity about what life was like on the land before Whitey showed up to 'tame' it.
