Vy Kava

Vy Kava is the 2016 winner of the Derringer Award from the Short Mystery Fiction Society for the "Best Flash Story-- titled "Hero".

Her stories have appeared in various anthologies. In 2018 Flash Bank Mysteries published three of her stories. "All in a Day's Work" in the winter issue, "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" in the spring issue, and "Date Night" in their autumn issue. "Date Night" was chosen as Editor's Choice. She had received numerous honorable mentions for her flash fiction from the Alfred Hitchcock Mystery magazine. In the July-August 2016 issue, her story "Mama" was the winner in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Photo that Won". Her story, "Exit Plan" was a finalist in the Writers Police Academy Donut Award in 2014.

In the January 2021, her story "Going Out to Sea" appeared in Mystery Weekly Magazine.

Vy lives in Connecticut with her husband John, and the best four-legged friend--Jake.

She is presently working on the next Jack Hennessey escapade.
