Veronica Moore

I was born in Durban, South Africa, the third of six children to my parents. My primary and secondary education took place at two different schools. We were encouraged to play sport as well as participate in extra curricular activities. I played hockey and tennis, sang in the school choir, helped in the school library and was the librarian in my senior year, acted in plays and was a member of the debating society.

On leaving school I worked in the Standard Bank of South Africa. I met my husband when the Royal Naval ship he was attached to was on a tour of duty. I moved to the UK where we married and moved around the UK until he retired and we settled in Stockport.

I studied for professional qualifications which took longer than I expected, but eventually achieved my goal.

We have two sons. The eldest is married with two daughters and the youngest lives with us.

After retiring, I enrolled on a Creative Writing Course at Aquinas College where Suzanne Downes was the tutor. I already knew Barbara Fagan Speake through my patchworking hobby, and found that they knew each other well. They both run writing groups which I joined and have enjoyed being amongst other writers. I also love reading their books.

Other hobbies I have are birdwatching and volunteer with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), walking, being a season ticket holder with my local football team, Stockport County, meeting up with friends all over the country, travelling as much as I can although not so much since this Covid horror hit us and gardening.

The first version of this book that I uploaded onto KDP was not to my liking. I misunderstood that KDP would format it, but they didn't, so the Kindle version was printed. I removed the printed book from Amazon, formatted the book myself and reloaded it. I am much happier now with the printed version which is available for purchase.
