Onofrio Catacchio

Since 1995, he has illustrated several issues of Nathan Never for Sergio Bonelli Editore. He adapted and illustrated La ballata di Corazza by Wu Ming 2, published by BD/Alta Fedeltà and included in Mondadori’s anthology Alta Criminalità. With text by Andrea Balzola, he created La Fattoria degli Anotrmali, a parody based on George Orwell’s novel of the same name.

In 2006, he illustrated stories and stage images adapted from Gaijin!, written by Luigi Bernardi and staged by the Tratto theater company. Together with Luigi Bernardi, he was also responsible for creating Fantomax for Coconino Press.

In 2010, Catacchio worked as an inker on Marvel’s Dark Wolverine series. In 2020, his graphic biography of Jackson Pollock, Pollock Confidential, was published.

For Sergio Bonelli Editore, he publishes La Mano Nera, loosely based on Joe Petrosino, the Italian-American detective who fought the Mafia in the early 1900s.

In 2023, he wrote the script for the adaptation of the graphic novel Lo Scudo di Talos, based on the novel by Valerio Massimo Manfredi and illustrated by Alessio Fortunato, published by Mondadori in the Oscar Ink series.

That same year, he began drawing the Harry Dickson series, based on the stories by Jean Ray and scripted by Doug Headline and Luana Vergari for the Franco-Belgian publisher Dupuis.

He teaches Comic Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna
