I live in a wonderful community along the shores of Lake Michigan with my husband of more than 30 years. Our two grown children still call Michigan home — and if you look closely at my illustrations, you might even spot their names hidden inside.

One of my favorite creative adventures was collaborating with a local playwright to bring Mackinac Max to the stage. Our children’s holiday play, “Max’s Merry Everything,” premiered at the local children’s museum, and seeing my character come to life was an unforgettable thrill.

I’m an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators – Michigan, the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association, and A Pop of Indie, a traveling book fair that celebrates Michigan’s independent authors.

I believe that whatever brings you joy is worth sharing — you never know who might need exactly the kind of happiness you create.
