Kay Rivers PhD

Kay Rivers, Ph.D., is a teacher, author, and founder of Lann Press. With more than 25 years of experience in education, she creates practical, flexible resources designed to support teachers, engage diverse learners, and make meaningful learning more accessible in real classrooms.

Dr. Rivers holds a Ph.D. in psychology and an M.A. in organizational management and is a National Board Certified Teacher in English as a New Language. Her work spans education, psychology, personal growth, and lived experience.

She is the author of The Weight of Abuse: Releasing Fear and Feeling Safe in Your Body and a contributing author to the New York Times bestseller It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living. Through Lann Press, she publishes classroom-tested resources for educators.

Dr. Rivers lives and works in Northern California with her wife and three amazing children.
