Sharon Sheltzer

Sharon D. Sheltzer is an architect, avid reader, and author who crafts inspiring stories for young people, igniting their passion to combat the climate crisis and celebrate human resilience. Woman Overboard, her “slice-of-life” memoir, was indie-published in 2021. Since then, she has attended writing conferences, seminars and classes, and participates weekly in Cambria Writers Workshop; a critique-oriented writers’ group that has spawned notable writers Christopher Moore and Catherine Ryan-Hyde.

12 Willows Press published her first novel, Lady of the Waves, in 2026. She is writing the second in a series with the same characters. Wising Up Press published an anthology with her essay, “Life in a Dumpster.” National Flash Fiction Day published her flash fiction, “The Elephant,” in 2024, and Microcosm Publishing will publish her short story “Eagle’s Wings” in 2026.

Her travels and host relationships with exchange students add to believability in international scene setting. Participation in kayaking, biking and yoga, despite physical limitations, provides her a unique understanding that challenges can be overcome. In her view, connecting with her audience is best achieved through storytelling.

Writing has repurposed her fertile imagination previously used for building design, and provides her with a new path to pursue climate activism.
