Kennedy Alexis Bigham

KENNEDY ALEXIS is currently a student at Texas Christian University (TCU), where she is a scholar in the John V. Roach Honors College. She is currently in her Senior year studying Religion with a minor in Classical Studies.

Kennedy published her prior work, Perfectly Unqualified: A 60 Day Christian Devotional, at age 18, during her freshman year of college. Devotional writing will always be dear to her heart and a part of her life. However, as she has been exposed to more life experiences, both her heart for people and her love for writing has led her to develop a new appreciation for the art of poetry. Through poetry, she has recently found abundant joy and freedom in pursuing authenticity over perfection in her ministry.

Kennedy Alexis has shifted from her overtly Christian writing style, to one that allows her to lean into the human experience as a whole. Kennedy strongly believes that we must approach faith with a holistic outlook on the human experience. Her current heart-tug is to bring awareness to the inherent need we have as humans to genuinely feel our emotions in order to heal old wounds. Faith will always be an important part of the work Kennedy does in this world, but she’s coming to discover that her faith background can influence her work as she expands to reach a wider audience, hit on a variety of topics, and continue to mature in writing style, voice, and tone.

When she’s not writing, Kennedy keeps herself busy with her involvement at Doxology Bible Church in Texas, where she serves on their College Ministry Team. Kennedy also invests her time into her campus job, working as a TA for the Chair of her department and working off campus at the organic juice bar where she is employed. Kennedy also serves as President of the TCU Religion Department student and faculty lunch organization, Chi Delta Mu, and is a mentor with the TCU Honors Mentorship Program.

Kennedy is a writer and a Jesus-follower at heart. She loves God. She loves people. And she loves sharing her gifts and talents to make a positive change in the world around her.
