Currently, Dr. Haroon Khan is a professor of Political Science and Public Administration at Henderson State University, an affiliate of Arkansas State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He also taught at Indiana-Purdue University at Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, Global Campus, Central Michigan University, and City University of New York, in the United States. In Bangladesh, he taught at the University of Chittagong, North South University, and as a Fulbright Fellow at Dhaka University in 1998-99. He received PhD from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, in 1989. He is the author of the books: Public Administration: An Introduction; President Nixon and India-Pakistan Conflict over Bangladesh; The Idea of Good Governance in the Global South: An Analysis of its Effects; Globalization: the Challenges of Public Administration, and Environmental Performance: An Analysis of its Determinants. He published a number of articles in academic journals. He received Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching, Research and Service from Henderson State University. He received the Outstanding Scholar Award from the Arkansas Political Science Association in 2017.
