Miranda Leigh is a writer, yoga instructor, and lifelong learner from Missouri. Her path to becoming an author has been shaped by creativity, self-discovery, and a deep connection to her inner voice.
Before writing full-time, Miranda spent 18 years as a massage therapist and ran her own business for 12 of those years. Today, she teaches yoga and continues to grow through workshops and training. Yoga has had a big impact on her writing. It helped her slow down, listen inward, and connect with the feelings and thoughts that shape her work.
Miranda has been writing since she was 17. She even started college as a creative writing major but switched to massage therapy school before taking writing classes. Still, she never completely stopped writing. Years later, she revisited her old work and decided to submit it to a publisher. That's how her first book, A Soul Adrift, came to life. Becoming a published author was a dream come true and a big turning point in her journey.
Her writing is personal and honest. Each book is like a journal. "Writing has always been my outlet," she says. "I may not show emotions easily, but I feel things deeply, and writing is how I express that." Whether she's sharing a quiet moment, a piece of advice, or simply painting a picture with her words, Miranda hopes her readers feel something real when they read her work. "Even if it's just one small line that gives them comfort, clarity, or makes them feel less alone—that's enough."
Outside of writing, Miranda enjoys yoga, reading, long walks with her dog, swimming, golfing with her husband, hula-hooping, traveling, and soaking up the sun by the ocean. She's a self-described introvert who once dropped public speaking classes multiple times but now teaches yoga and shares her voice through her writing. "No one is more surprised than me!" she admits.
Miranda doesn't follow a strict writing routine. She writes when inspiration hits, feels something deeply, or hears a "voice" in her head that won't quiet down until it's written out. Her poems often go through several rounds of editing. When she wrote A Little Haiku, she found herself constantly counting syllables, making sure each line felt just right.
She's currently working on her fifth book and plans to release it in the near future. The title is still in the works, but Miranda is excited to share more of her heart and journey with readers soon.
