My daughter, Madison, and I wrote a children’s book together titled "100 Days Inside," as a special mother-daughter project during the pandemic in 2020. The story is based on our experience from the perspective of my daughter. We wanted to create a book where our diverse aesthetic and co-parenting family dynamic was represented in a positive light. Our back story is that after books read at school, my daughter began to not love her beautiful Brown skin, starting at age 3. Since then, I’ve been making sure that she sees herself represented in the world around her and advocating for inclusivity because we know and understand first hand how important representation is. Together, my daughter and I are on a mission to cultivate inclusivity and mindfulness through creativity.
Our first book together, "100 Days Inside," and personal story was featured on OWN network and our book was included in the ‘21 Grammy’s gift bags. After we released our second project, “Mindful Littles: Daily Affirmations for Kids, we were featured on NBC and Spectrum News. The empowering deck of cards features diverse children and aims to be inclusive, while promoting emotional health. We released our 2nd book, "100 Days Outside," and are working with a celeb for a potential collaboration where she will record our audiobook for our new book. Stay tuned!
