Sandra Rose Morris Kemp, local historian, lived her early years in Mohemenco Hamlet, Powhatan, VA. Upon reaching adulthood, she lived in the northern and western parts of the country. Since 1988 she has resided in the Richmond, VA area.
Ms. Kemp completed elementary school and high school in Powhatan, VA. She pursued higher education at VCU (fashion design), UDC (adult education), and UM (extension education).
Ms. Kemp's other training includes the Peace Corps, DC Army National Guard, Leadership Institute (Powhatan,VA), Leadership for Innovation and Change (NOVA, Fort Lauderdale, FL), Pastoral Care and Counseling (Richmond, VA), and Befriender Ministry (Richmond, VA).
Her teaching work experience includes correction, extension, and public housing.
She has served on various boards and committees: Belmead, War Memorial Building Use, Tourism Board, Social Services Board, Pictorial History, Civil War 150th Anniversary, and School Revitalization Use.
Ms. Kemp's hobbies and interests: property rental, home decorating, clothing design, historical preservation, research, writing, health and fitness, relaxing with Jazz music, watching documentaries, photography, and traveling.
