Ada Agada, philosopher, poet, and novelist was born in the Nigerian town of Orokam. He was educated at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Benue State University, Makurdi, where he took degrees in Philosophy. Agada has held writing and postdoctoral fellowships in Germany, South Africa, and Ghana. He is the author of Existence and Consolation: Reinventing Ontology, Gnosis, and Values in African Philosophy, a winner of the prestigious Outstanding Academic Title (OAT) award given yearly by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), the largest division of the American Library Association (ALA). Agada constantly refers to literature as his first love and regards his creative work as a continuation of the exploration of his profound curiosity about how human existence holds no meaning beyond the moment-to-moment quest for consolation. Agada is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and Philosophers Association of Nigeria (PAN). He has written over one thousand poems and several novels. Intimations is his first published poetry volume.
