Dr. Talha Sami

Talha has already had an impressive portfolio career and gives added value to any path he follows. He qualified in Medicine at St Georges London and has an iBSc in Philosophy Medicine and Society from UCL. He also has an MA in History from SOAS. Amongst other things he has been a medical interpreter, a science tutor and a volunteer on a number of international medical aid missions in The Gambia, Pakistan and Calais.

He has published several peer-reviewed papers and has presented at regional, national and international level. Throughout his medical career he has enjoyed and been heavily involved in teaching.

As a GP registrar during the year of the coronavirus pandemic he became one of the first group of registrars to sit the RCA. It was introduced at extremely short notice by the RCGP in response to the inability to proceed with the CSA in its traditional form. This was a time of great unrest and uncertainty but in the space of a few weeks Talha prepared for and successfully sat the new RCA.

He learnt much over this time and was extremely quick to condense his learning to support fellow registrars keen to know more about this exam in his first book How To Pass The RCA. Commendably in response to further developments in the RCA exam he has followed his first book up with a second volume.

As his trainer I am delighted by Talha’s energy and motivation to produce these resources as well as supporting tutorials, all of which provide very useful knowledge and guidance for GP registrars and trainers alike.
