Eager to get things going, Joseph's birth began in a speeding ambulance, on a desert highway outside of Cave Creek, Arizona. Unable to wait patiently for a comfortable bed, his birth was completed in the back of that same ambulance, in the parking lot of St. Joseph's hospital.
Growing up, his family owned a publishing company and his Grandfather wrote books, so young Joey decided early on that he wanted to be an entrepreneur and an author.
His childhood attempts at writing had something to do with ninjas; a degree in business and years of running his own company taught him that writing about ninjas was akin to drawing boa constrictors eating elephants. Today, Joseph writes about more sensible things. When he's not writing, he's usually playing with his kids, exploring public access Unix systems, tinkering on his guitar, or juggling.
