Lakia T. Hickman

Lakia T. Hickman is a mother, educator, and middle child. She has taught over 8 years in several different countries around the world. She is a full-time single mother to a preschool age child, August. She grew up in a blended family and knows all about the struggles of childhood. She also practices conscious parenting. She has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Teaching Certificate in Special Education. Lakia inspires to write a host of books across many disciplines. She is eager to get more African American books to young children to help inspire their love for reading while also teaching valuable life lessons.
