Shutaro Takeda

Dr. Shutaro Takeda is an aspirational energy scientist who has made outstanding contributions to sustainable development.

Dr. Takeda entered the Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University, in 2008. Before graduation, upon the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tohoku, he took a leave of absence and joined the military to contribute to the country's reconstruction. He returned to the university in 2014, where he received the Bachelor of Engineering degree and the Ph.D. degree. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2018.

Dr. Takeda's dedication and passion for humanitarian researches are exceptional. Just as he showed his spirit of self-sacrifice by joining the army for the country's reconstruction, he is now committed to making a difference toward sustainable development of the world through academic research.

His dedications have been recognized with multiple honors and awards. Most notably, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and awarded the 2018 International Young Energy Professional of the Year award by AEE.
