Hannah Peckham

Hannah Peckham Is a Counsellor, Mother and award winning childrens author that Grew up in Sussex. She was diagnosed with classic dyslexia at the age of five.

Conker the chameleon has gone on to win multiple awards including winning the selfies childrens book category at the London book fair 2022 and the childrens mind body and spirit in the international book awards it is also a Teachers Pick on Amazon, Good Toy Guide recommended and won Bronze at the Junior Design Awards 2021. It is celebrated for it’s use of the zones of regulation within early years settings and has been translated into Portuguese by penguin random house.

Her books not only deliver beautiful stories but also embraces the learning opportunity to deliver key social emotional lessons . Climb is endorsed by the lead author of development matters the non statutory government guidelines for early years settings and is good toy guide recommended.

Her newly released title ‘Conker and the monkey trap’ delivers a message about bravery , friendship and kindness with a subtle nod to the importance of connection, team work and incorporates the 5 steps to mental wellbeing. For the release she teamed up with Leonards Lee lakes and gardens for a Conker themed well being trail around the woodland. She also visits schools to read her book and deliver workshops to key stage one students.

Hannah believes that laying the foundations of good mental health early on can give children the gift of emotional literacy to take forward into adulthood. Children who learn how to understand their emotions are more likely to develop resilience and coping skills, have a positive sense of self, develop positive relationships, feel more confident be more empathic.

“as parents we all want to protect our children from ever feeling emotional pain but we can’t stop difficult things happening, what we can do is provide them with skills and understanding so they can cope when challenging times occur and that is what my books aim to do.”
