Melvin Dowdy

Author, teacher, psychologist and spiritual director, Melvin earned his PhD in counseling psychology from Duke University and a MA in clinical bioethics from the University of Virginia. He has taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Virginia, Neumann University, and most recently The University of Notre Dame. His practice as a clinical psychologist and leadership development consultant spans more than 38 years. His poems have been published by The University of Notre Dame Kylemore Abbey Global Center, Ireland and the Life in 10 Minutes website. He lives in Richmond Va. where he and his wife engage the work of racial reconciliation.
