I am a Scot born in 1965. My poetry was first published by Faber and Faber in the book Poetry Introduction 7 (1990). My four subsequent books of poetry are Steel Horizon (Incline Press, 2013), Ordinary Others and Vulgar Variants (Drizzle-Dazzle, 2020 & 2021) and The Lady on the Plank - Poems for Ukraine (Drizzle-Dazzle, 2022). Steel Horizon is a series of poems that describe the lives of oil rig workers in the North Sea. The book is illustrated by my brother, the artist Nick Wonham. Ordinary Others and Vulgar Variants are part of a trilogy of books not yet complete. Each presents a series of sixteen character portraits in prose poetry. These two books are illustrated by Suzanne Smith. My poetic style is often experimental but also humorous and accessible.
