Joseph Conniff

Joe Conniff is a person living in recovery from a substance use disorder and mental illness. He is a public speaker, sharing his experiences in addiction, spirituality, and recovery. His first book, Causes and Conditions, details the events of his life starting with his childhood in an overprescribed, middle-class, suburban household in Massachusetts; followed by post 9/11 military life and his downward spiral into heroin addiction on the streets of Seattle. His second book, Where the Lotus Still Grows shares daily practices, journal prompts and meditations to assist the reader in their healing journey. Joe currently serves as a Reentry Program Supervisor in King County, WA. Aside from time spent with his spouse, daughter and three dogs, he is a recovery advocate, mindfulness/dharma teacher and billiards enthusiast. He lives in Tacoma, Washington.
