Steve Oates

Steve Oates was the first offspring of the union between a Yorkshireman and a Londoner and enjoyed the benefits of two quite different styles of parenting while growing up in the Home counties during the 1960s.

He emerged in the late 70s with a Chemistry degree and a passion for real ale, naval history, Pythonesque humour and progressive music. He was all set for an unremarkable 35 year career in the pharmaceutical industry.

With the business of marriage and procreation (two sons) also accomplished he has now retreated to the Shropshire Hills with his wife and a rescue cat.
