Lea Taylor

Looking back now I've always been a writer; a curator of stories. From a young age I loved to write, I even had a collection of pen pals, one of whom I wrote to from the age of 13 (in 1973) up until she died in 2017 - we only ever met the once but my penpal grew up with me.

I became an author more by accident than design having worked as a professional storyteller for a good 10 years prior to properly committing to write for publication. On reflection it was an inevitability, I had been writing shows for both national and international performance for a while and had experienced some measure of success. Being late but in earnest seems to be the way with my life - storytelling, writing, even getting my Masters degrees as a mature student.

Now I have the wind in my writing sails and have written a rather eclectic range of books from contemporary folklore to books for children to picture books. I am currently working on a novel series (for adults) with book three of the series in the offing. In my daytime job I work as a ghostwriter and writing coach - my dream job.

I hail from the Cotswolds but live just outside Edinburgh with my husband, son and two rescue dogs. I am an avid drinker of tea, have a fondness for tea cakes and have an eye for the ridiculous. Laughter is always the best medicine.
