John Mills teaches classes in music technology, piano, and jazz in Virginia. He has taught music in many settings including public elementary, middle, and high schools, and has presented research and practice sessions at several universities and academic conferences across the United States. He frequently leads professional development workshops related to creativity, music production, and early-career music teaching.
John has contributed to GIA and NAfME publications, and is co-founder of Low Down Publishing. He holds degrees in music education from James Madison University (B.M.) and the Eastman School of Music (M.M.).
