Joyce Kinkead

Joyce Kinkead grew up on a farm in Missouri and has been a teacher of writing for 40 years. Her interest in the back story of writing led her to A Writing Studies Primer--a history of 5000 years of writing and its material culture--published by Broadview Press in 2022. This book joins many others that illustrate Kinkead's interest in diverse topics: Research Methods in Writing; The Farm in Literature and Culture; Diaries of Early Utah Schoolteachers; and undergraduate research. When she's not writing or teaching, she enjoys international travel, biking, hiking, and skiing.
