Dawnaya Key

Dawnaya Key is a bilingual author, educator, storyteller, and founder of Dawnaya Key Publishing whose life and writing are anchored in her relationship with Jesus Christ. She holds a degree in Spanish education and has devoted her career to teaching language through stories that heal, unite, and reflect God’s faithfulness. Her first book, Tomate, is based on the inspirational true story of a friendship that transcended age, language, and culture—a friendship orchestrated by the Lord Himself.

Raised in a Christ-centered home, Dawnaya weaves spiritual truth into every chapter she writes. Her stories carry the warmth of grace, the strength of Scripture, and the tender humor of everyday miracles. As a teacher, she sees her classroom as a mission field; as an author, she writes with the prayer that her words would point hearts toward healing and hope in Christ. Through her publishing imprint, she seeks to amplify voices shaped by redemption, identity, and the transforming love of Jesus. Dawnaya lives in Illinois with her husband and two children, who are being raised bilingual in honor of the woman who changed their mother’s life forever: Juana López.

Every page Dawnaya writes is, at its core, an offering to the One who writes the best stories—Jesus. She hopes to one day lead bilingual Bible studies and share her testimonies as a speaker in churches and gatherings, both in English and Spanish. Her desire is that every word she writes, teaches, or speaks would carry the fragrance of grace and point others to the love and truth of Christ—not to elevate her name, but to lift high the name above all names. Whether on the page, in the classroom, or from a platform, her heartbeat remains the same: to glorify God and invite others to step into the beautiful story He’s writing for their lives.
