Laura Weidman Powers

Laura Weidman Powers is a social entrepreneur, avid traveler, and working mom. She has invested in and supported entrepreneurs globally and domestically while at Echoing Green and New Media Ventures. She spent a six-month term at the Obama White House, focused on equity and inclusion in tech and entrepreneurship. Laura is the co-founder and CEO emerita of Code2040, a nationally-recognized nonprofit mobilizing the largest racial equity community in tech. Her work has been covered by The New York Times, Forbes, Fortune, NBC, Bloomberg, Fast Company, Inc., and NPR. She holds a BA from Harvard and a JD/MBA from Stanford, and is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on topics of innovation, equity, and management.
