About CJ Tidwell, The Vintage Gypsy

Cristi “C.J.” Tidwell was born and raised in Southeast Texas and always carries with her an optimistic view on life and seeks authenticity in all things. She attributes her strong faith in God as the fundamental reason for her optimism and the one source that has remained a constant through the many trials of life.

Spending years as a single mother with multiple jobs, she did not allow her experiences with domestic abuse, divorce, custody battles or having a heart attack at 45 keep her down. Humbly blessed with three children, one grandchild and one loyal and loving furbaby, her passion and mission in life is to bring this message to all women who struggle with the craziness in the world today that constantly tries to destroy the joy we were all meant to have.

She started The Vintage Gypsy Shop in April of 2017 to offer handmade products to weary women that make them feel happy and pampered and now has expanded her business into a bigger mission…a “Joy Movement”. She uses tutus to signify and express to women around the world that we can remain joyful even during the pain and trials of life by “dancing in the rain”. Her debut book released in 2019, “And God Whispered”, is a poetic journey and devotional from the heart that shows that God never leaves us and wants us to live in joy every day.
