Dr. Alexis Olson specializes in neuropsychological evaluations and therapy for individuals affected by brain injury, chronic pain/illness, and caregiving.
Fueled by a desire to increase patient access to information and opportunities for brain wellness, her books use many of the tips and techniques she often implements in her work with patients and their loved ones. Dr. Olson enjoys finding innovative ways to help her patients reach their treatment goals, which include improving thinking skills and emotional resilience, and adapting to unexpected changes in physical/mental abilities.
Dr. Olson regularly provides cognitive training, involving learning and practicing compensatory cognitive strategies in everyday life situations. Her background includes a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and postdoctoral training at UC Davis Medical Center Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, as well as at Advanced Neurobehavioral Health in coordination with University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Olson is a published researcher in the field of rehabilitation psychology; she is a national presenter and active researcher on the topic of brain function and adult protective services.
