J. B. Frank

J. B. Frank, is the third child of 14 siblings. She lived in a small bungalow in Chicago’s Northwest side. When she was young her father would hold contests during the summer. They ranged from reciting poetry to writing stories. J.B. won for her story about an alien. She dreamed of being a writer but fate’s path headed in a different direction.

J.B. became an accomplished television producer winning an Emmy and CINE award for her productions. She was nominated for a national Emmy for a children’s music show. That experience of working to connect with kids rekindled the dream of writing for children.

J.B. received an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University. She has written articles for a number of children’s magazines and journals. Her first book was published a few years ago and then another, and another and yet another. J.B. is intent on creating the writing life she always desired. So, she moved out of the city and she lives in the country with her sweetheart, chickens, ducks, goats, her three cats, Katleen, Cruella and Maxie, and a dog named Mia.
