Dr. Mark Congdon Jr. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies in the School of Communication, Media, and the Arts at Sacred Heart University. He holds a Ph.D. (2018) in Communication with a concentration in social entrepreneurship in communication pedagogy and educational leadership from the University of Maine. Mark’s scholarship and pedagogy explore innovative teaching and learning practices that increase the civic engagement and career readiness of students. His work has been published in Communication Education, Communication Teacher, and The Qualitative Report, among others. Mark is also a National Board Member of US-El Salvador Sister Cities, a grassroots organization dedicated to creating a cultural-economic model of relationships between the US and El Salvador based on social justice, solidarity, and empowerment.
